About the Programme

In 2016, the Faculty of Law and Business Studies Dr. Lazar Vrkatić marked a decade of successful operation. At the same time, we saw off another generation of students who successfully completed law studies. What we are particularly proud of is the fact that during the first decade of our existence and work, students of the Law study programme have successfully affirmed themselves in a wide range of legal professions. In most cases, students who graduated law with 240 ECTS points were employed in various legal professions in the judiciary, state bodies, provincial authorities, local self-government bodies and the economy sector in general. Indeed, the dominant choice of profession does include judicial affairs and most often specific job positions in law practice and courts, given the fact that the Law study programme at our faculty meets all the requirements necessary for enabling the graduates of Law to engage in the practice of law or work in legal affairs.

The Faculty of Law and Business Studies Dr. Lazar Vrkatić is the first accredited private faculty in Serbia. The Law study programme was accredited in 2009, and after the end of the first cycle, it was successfully re-accredited in 2013, thus confirming its quality.

All this obliges us to continue in accordance with our mission set by the very founder, Professor Lazar Vrkatić, which is education of creative and quality professionals who are competent to pro-actively engage themselves in contemporary social and economic trends. During the previous period, the Department of Law managed to build an enviable reputation among law schools in Serbia through its quality work. After a successful decade, our desire is to see the results of our work through the success of young people, who will upon completing their studies have the chance to use the acquired knowledge in the best possible way and to proudly say that they are part of our academic family. More than 50% of our students have enrolled on the basis of recommendation by other students. Students whose parents are prominent lawyers in Serbia also regard us to be a trusty institution. We are proud of the fact that our students have achieved very successful results in competitions in various fields of law organized in our country. The quality and credibility of the Department of Law is also reflected today through the cooperation with numerous state and professional institutions that have recognized the department as a quality and respectable partner regarding both lecturers and students.
