Security and Crime Science

About the Programme

The Security and Crime Science study programme aims to educate students for professions which are expected to be among the most wanted in Serbia in the upcoming decades, according to the National Employment Service and Employers’ Association of Serbia.

For Corporate and Civilian Security Management/ Security and Crime Science graduates, the number of job opportunities is rapidly increasing. The focus of the profession is shifting from the public sector (the military and police) and security agencies, to the private sector and managerial positions in the field of security.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, students also acquire the necessary practical knowledge and skills that will be useful for their profession.

For this purpose, the Faculty organizes practical teaching and study visits:

  • Martial arts
  • Theoretical training in firearms safety
  • Lifesaving water safety skills
  • First aid skills
  • Forensic workshops and weekly practice in forensic centres in Novi Sad and Niš
  • Visits to police departments and stations in Novi Sad and Niš
  • Attending trials
  • Visits to detention and rehabilitation centre in Niš and the district prison in Novi Sad
  • Visits to companies and institutions (NIS, the Novi Sad Fair, the Novi Sad oil refinery, detective agencies, physical and technical security agencies)
  • High-risk mass gatherings security assessment – the role of security managers
  • Practical work
